About me and my style
Since qualifying as an accountant at Deloitte, my career has taken several twists and turns over the last 42 years.
Progressing through roles in External and Internal Audit, Sales, Marketing, Finance and then back to Internal Audit finishing up as Chief Financial Officer and then finally Chief Audit Executive for Honda Motor Europe reporting to Japan.
Leading teams of dozens of individuals through strategic change, hiring and nurturing people and also having to let them go during tough times.
I am currently enjoying partial retirement but love giving back through charities such as Wooden Spoon and as a Coach, Facilitator and Trainer at Alitus. (alitus.co.uk ). I am also working with a number of family businesses looking at their strategic business plans.
Imparting years of experience into the next generation of leaders. I really enjoy seeing the progression of people at the start of their careers, seeing them avoid mistakes and make big leaps in their trajectory of their business or career.
Remember everyone is unique and thank goodness for that so any coaching needs to flexible, relevant and timely.
My style is based upon listening to you and if appropriate your boss. I would like to understanding your leadership style, decision making criteria, life requirements, hopes and dreams. We will discuss what you believe you are good at or not good at …….. like or don’t like to do . We will consider your current and future challenges, the lessons learnt from your past experiences and discuss an appropriate plan for the future.
We discuss how you interact with your direct reports, your colleagues , the board and your boss. We will consider your resilience and how you are adapting to your current circumstances and how you inspire people for both personal and business success.
If you are involved in one of the Alitus courses I augment the various programmes as your one to one coach.
My coaching experience cover all levels in big, medium , small organisations in many public and private businesses including the charitable sector. Most issues are common to any business , but very often as you get further up the ladder then the loneliness increases…..especially with flexible working .
